Rushed Radio Commercials and Rushed Creativity
September 4th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedI just got off the phone a few minutes ago… received a job request for a radio commercial which needs to be done immediately, needs to air as soon as possible as it is for an event that is happening this Saturday. That makes it a bit easier, since event ads or dated ads are primarily about details such as what, when, where… the institutional ads are the ones which are really difficult to put together on a pressed schedule.
One of the most difficult things to do is get your head working against a certain deadline; it is quite difficult to be creative when creativity is coerced and pressure mounts as you want to deliver an ad that would would come out and sound just as good as one that had weeks of preparation and study.
So what happens when you are boxed into a corner and your deadline approaches?
I am not too sure of the answer yet, and it probably will not come to me while I blog, so I better just conclude and start working on that ad.

Welcome to My Radio Snack
July 9th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedHi and welcome to my blog site.
This site is all about radio, every aspect of it; and to a significant extent… the production side. I have been on radio for over 10 years, but I have been doing voice overs and producing radio commercials much longer.
In recent years, there has been a decline in overall radio listeners, which is due to the availability of affordable music storage and playback technologies such as mp3 players and ipods. In a way, it made sense, why listen to the radio and put up with some songs you don’t like and annoying radio commercials when you can squeeze all your favorite music into this little device, take it wherever you go, or listen to what you want to listen to when you can. Sometimes, the DJ can get just as annoying.
But radio has managed to survive somehow and the very reason for that is the simple reason why radio was always a big hit - personality.
You can stick all your favorite songs into your portable music device, but after long hours of nothing but music you are bound to get lonely because people are social beings and need some sort of interaction. When it comes to radio and music, people need someone to relate with… a voice to converse with.
Yes I am a big radio fan, and this is my radio snack.
